Governing Body Plan for Goshen Community School Corporation

The number of members of the Board of School Trustees shall be seven (7), elected on a non-partisan basis.

Three (3) of the members shall be at-large members, elected by all the voters of the school corporation and four (4) of the members shall be electoral district members residing in the electoral district from which he or she is elected by voters residing in that same electoral district.  The four (4) electoral districts of the Community School District shall be designated as Districts 1, 2, 3, and 4.

District 1 shall consist of Elkhart Township precincts numbered 2, 5, 7, 17, and 20.

District 2 shall consist of Elkhart Township precincts numbered 1, 3, 4, 6, and 16.

District 3 shall consist of Elkhart Township precincts numbered 8, 10. 11, 12, and 14.

District 4 shall consist of Elkhart Township precincts numbered 13, 15, 19, 21, and 22.

An individual who runs for one of the electoral district positions on the school board must reside within that electoral district. Only eligible voters residing in the candidate's electoral district may vote for the candidate.

An individual who runs for one of the at-large positions on the school board must reside within the boundaries of the school corporation. Eligible voters from all district may vote for at-large positions.
